What compensates is the fort. The Renaissance is physically attached to the Rif Fort and Wind Creek Mall complex, which contains ten-plus independent restaurants, bars and shops in a stone courtyard overlooking the harbor. Gondola does Italian, The Pancake Sensation does Dutch pancakes, Don’s Ice Cream Shop does exactly what it sounds like, and there are Caribbean, Asian and steak options besides. That is a genuinely different — and for some travelers better — proposition than an all-inclusive resort’s rotation of eight in-house restaurants. You are eating at independent businesses with real menus. But the voucher is a subsidy, not a blank check, and a proper dinner for two with wine will exceed $50.

Infinity Beach

Cruise ships pass at close range, which is either a highlight or an intrusion depending on your temperament.

It is also small. In high season, shaded loungers are gone early and reviewers say so bluntly. If shade matters, get down before nine or be prepared to pay for a cabana.

The Infinity Beach area completed an enhancement project in early June 2026, during which the hotel ran complimentary transport and access to Mambo Beach for guests — a reasonable piece of crisis management, and worth knowing that the resort has form for arranging Mambo Beach access if you want a bigger stretch of sand.

Pools

Two: the large saltwater infinity pool at Infinity Beach, which is the property’s signature image and genuinely impressive, and a separate freshwater pool. The infinity pool is where the resort earns its photography, and it is big enough not to feel crowded even when the beach is.

Daytime

The activity here is Willemstad. Within a 15-minute walk: the Queen Emma pontoon bridge, the Handelskade’s painted waterfront, the Kura Hulanda museum, the Floating Market and the Pietermaai district’s cafés. That is more genuinely interesting daytime programming than any resort activities desk on the island can produce.

On-property, expect a pool and beach operation plus the fitness center, with new weekly activity programming introduced alongside the all-inclusive package. Diving, snorkeling trips and island tours are arranged through third parties and are not included.

Evening

The Wind Creek Casino adjoins the hotel — the all-inclusive package includes $10 in casino free play per guest, which is a token but a pleasant one. Beyond that, the Rif Fort courtyard bars run late, Pietermaai is a short taxi or a long walk, and Willemstad has a real, non-resort nightlife that no other Curaçao all-inclusive can offer.

Families

There is no dedicated kids’ club, and this is not primarily a family resort — the pool, the small beach and the city location suit couples and groups better.
