For a St Maarten all-inclusive package, start with Sonesta Maho for a family trip, Sonesta Ocean Point for an adults-only stay, or Divi Little Bay with an explicitly selected all-inclusive plan. Then check whether your quote also includes flights and transfers. Those are separate questions: a flight-and-hotel bundle can still leave meals and drinks to pay for.
This guide is about choosing and comparing a package. For the island’s different areas and the wider hotel shortlist, use our St Martin / St Maarten destination guide. The properties discussed below are on the Dutch side, Sint Maarten; check the full hotel name when searching both spellings.
Prices, rates and inclusions change with season and availability — confirm the current rate and what’s included before you book. We have not verified a live package price for particular travel dates.
Compare the package types first
| Option | Hotel plan to look for | Best starting point for | Main booking check |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sonesta Maho Beach Resort | All-inclusive resort stay | Families and mixed-age groups | Room occupancy, children’s ages and any club upgrade |
| Sonesta Ocean Point | Adults-only all-inclusive stay | Couples and adult groups | Exact suite and included access privileges |
| Divi Little Bay | Selected Signature or Premium all-inclusive plan | Travelers comparing room and meal-plan options | Which plan is actually on the reservation |
| Simpson Bay Resort | Read the specific rate; do not assume all-inclusive | Travelers also considering breakfast or self-catering | A flight bundle or food credit is not unlimited dining |
Sonesta Maho or Ocean Point?
Sonesta’s Maho listing describes a family all-inclusive resort with food, drinks, activities and entertainment covered by the rate. It also sells an Ultimate Adults-Only Club within that family resort. Book the club because its benefits suit you, not because you think it changes the whole hotel into an adults-only property.
Ocean Point’s official information describes an adults-only all-inclusive resort and access to the neighboring Maho facilities. That access runs from the Ocean Point booking; do not assume an ordinary Maho reservation gives the reverse privileges. Butler service is also tied to selected higher suite categories rather than every room.
Our booking preference is straightforward: compare Maho first when children are traveling, and Ocean Point when a fully adults-only resort matters. For either, check the resort location near the airport and decide whether the Maho setting suits your holiday. A short transfer is useful, but it does not tell you how quiet your room will be.
Read the Maho review or Ocean Point review before comparing the same room category across sellers.
Divi Little Bay: make the meal plan explicit
Divi’s official Little Bay page advertises Signature and Premium all-inclusive packages, with food and drinks at participating outlets and non-motorized watersports. The relevant word is participating: ask for the current outlet list and upgrade differences.
Choose your room and plan together. If a seller lists only the accommodation name, ask whether Signature, Premium or a different board basis is included. Do not use a photograph of a particular restaurant or bar as proof that your rate covers it.
For a family, enter the actual ages of the children before comparing totals. For couples, consider how many meals you expect to have away from the property before paying for a higher tier. Our Divi Little Bay review covers the accommodation decision separately.
Why Simpson Bay needs a closer look
The Simpson Bay Resort website advertises hotel-and-flight offers and a room-with-breakfast offer. Neither is evidence of an all-inclusive lunch, dinner and drinks plan.
If a travel seller advertises an all-inclusive Simpson Bay package, request the meal and drink terms in writing: participating restaurants, allowances, supplements and who supplies the plan. We have not verified a current third-party all-inclusive offer here. A booking that includes two breakfasts can be useful, but it should be compared with other breakfast rates rather than a full Sonesta resort plan.
Read our Simpson Bay review if you would prefer kitchen facilities and flexibility over prepaid resort dining.
How to compare packages with flights
Ask each seller for the total for the same party, dates, room category and board basis. Then check the components below.
| Component | What the quote should make clear |
|---|---|
| Air travel | Departure and arrival airports, connections, checked bags and flight dates |
| Accommodation | Exact hotel, room category, number of nights and permitted occupancy |
| Meals and drinks | Named plan, participating outlets and any usage limits |
| Transfers | Whether both airport journeys are included and how they are arranged |
| Extra charges | Taxes or compulsory charges payable separately, and optional upgrades |
| Flexibility | Payment schedule, change fees and cancellation terms |
A hotel-only quote is worth comparing too. Add the separate airfare, baggage and transport to it before judging which costs less. Check whether flight times require another hotel night or leave you paying for meals after checkout. Keep the quote’s currency and whether prices are per person or per room consistent.
When all-inclusive is the wrong package
If you intend to spend most days exploring and eat away from the hotel most evenings, price a room-only or breakfast stay alongside the all-inclusive options. Prepaid meals have limited value when you will not use them. Conversely, travelers planning a resort-centered week may value having ordinary meal and drink costs settled in advance.
Choose the holiday format first, then the package. A cheaper offer at the wrong hotel is not a useful saving.

Frequently asked questions
Do St Maarten all-inclusive packages include flights?
Not automatically. The resort’s all-inclusive plan covers specified hotel services. Flights, baggage and airport transfers must be listed separately in the package you buy.
Which St Maarten all-inclusive should families compare first?
Start with Sonesta Maho Beach Resort and an explicitly all-inclusive rate at Divi Little Bay. Compare room occupancy, children’s ages, the meal plan and the total trip cost.
Is Simpson Bay Resort all-inclusive?
Do not assume so. Its official offers include flight-and-hotel and breakfast bundles, which do not establish an all-inclusive meal and drink plan. Require written inclusions for any offer sold as all-inclusive.
Is Sonesta Maho the same as Sonesta Ocean Point?
No. Maho Beach Resort welcomes families; Ocean Point is an adults-only resort. Maho’s adults-only club is a room-tier option within the family resort, not a booking at Ocean Point.
