3. Kudadoo — best no-compromise choice

Kudadoo Maldives Private Island takes the opposite approach to a large resort: very few villas, high privacy and a package designed to remove most on-island decisions. It is the choice for couples who want butler-led ultra-luxury rather than entertainment variety.

There is no value argument in the conventional sense. The benefit is that the villa, service and broad inclusion philosophy point in the same direction. Travelers looking for a social scene, a busy kids’ programme or a long restaurant list should spend less elsewhere.

4. Constance Moofushi — best for the reef

The long road transfer is the principal cost in time. Verify the reopening date, construction status and exact overwater inventory for your travel period before committing; major resort work can change which experience is available.

7. Stella Island — best overwater look in Europe

Stella Island Luxury Resort & Spa is the deliberate outlier. Its bungalows sit above a constructed lagoon pool in Crete, not the Aegean Sea. There is no coral reef or ladder into open water.

What you get is the overwater silhouette, a romantic adults-oriented environment and an easier European trip. It can be excellent value if the visual atmosphere is the goal. It will disappoint anyone who treats “overwater” as a promise of ocean access.

The costs beyond the room

Transfers
